Technorati

Well I am going to assume that I understand what Technorati is, but if I get it wrong, comment and give me a gentle nudge in the right direction. For people this works for I am sure they love it. But I have to wonder, who has all this free time to inhale millisecond updates from blogs? Most professions are not web integrated like this library. I also do not understand the need for instantaneous alerts about blog postings. Is the information that important? These are not official journalistic sites. What percent of blog postings would you consider worth being tagged. Most of them are probably about celebrities anyways. P.S. I am sure this is not the most educated posting, but it is required and this is all I could think of to say.
